It gives your Pokemon, when it levels and extra boost in a certain stat. The stat depends on the Pokemon you faint. Good luck with ev training.

Ok EV trainin boasts stats. Evey four EV points you get boasts one stat by one

Lets say you want to boast HP you can fight bidfos (that I didn't spell right and the right spelling has jump out off my head at the mo)but you only get one point but if you fight the evoled one you get two insted

Well, EV Training is trying to boost up a particular stat.

Every Pokemon you battle increases a particular stat by a certain amount. Some, more than others. Others, less than some.

Now, if you battle about 5 Pokemon that can increase a pokemon's HP stat pretty well, when that Pokemon gains a level, you should notice their HP stat increase more than the other stats.

Ev stands for effort value say you have a Pokemon with a low defence you want to get higher all you have to do is battle a Pokemon with a high defence and when your Pokemon levels up it's defence will grow by more than it should
