I think a Pokemon Team that consists of a Ghost-Type, Fighting-Type, and Psychic-Type Pokemon would fair good against the Elite Four. You will not face the Champion the first time you face the Elite Four.
I would recommend your Pokemon Levels be between 45-50 when facing the Elite Four for the first time.
