Well, it would be completely up to you. I prefer Tepig, because of the vast moves you can teach it. However, whichever you choose would be great! There are no wrong choices!
Hope this helps!
I would personally choose Tepig as well, as I've always had the best luck with fire/fight type Pokemon. If you think you can judge all of it's moves and abilities correctly, then get it. Else, stick to that Snivy you wanted.
You could get a snivy and when you get a ditto mate the ditto with the snivy and hatch 2 snivy from eggs and then trade over wifi connection.
I started with Snivy and I think I made a god choice, becuse Tepig are weak against flying and water so the wont be hard to kill. And Oswat are weak against grass, so it wont be to hard to kill your friends. Also Snivy can use moves like Leaf Tornado, which is pretty powerful.
I'd say oshowatt cause when he fully levels 2 100 he has good defense power and special defense and his moves are powerful. But if you stick to snivy he has good stats also...
Depends. Snivy is good for putting up light screen and reflect and using things like toxic and it is bad at attacking in other ways. Tepig focuses on offense, and oshawott is all around. Also, you can find way better fire Pokemon like chandelure and darmanitan, but there arent really many better water and grass types you can find.
