Please could you help me get will turners character past the first chest at the cliffs as I have restarted the game various times to see if I have missed ropes or hooks to climb these cliffs.
The only way my charater will go once I reach the chest is into the water as he won't climb or jump on any of the three remaining sides. Sorry for being silly but this is my first game and I appear to but hopeless at it.

I think you mean the irst treasure chest at Isla Cruses. If so, I know the answer on your question. There is a box which you can't slash. Get on the left side of it and press A. If you've done this correctly, your character will pish the box to the left. Now you can jump on it and hang on the wooden wall to the left.
