How do you get cool gifts when on a walk because I keep getting sticks

There somewhere.you normaly get the useless idems when your just went of a walk or got most of the idems already meaning you played the game too long.
Go to the farthest question blocks from your house and pick up suprise gifts not indicated on the map...that should help make sure you take your dogs on lots of walks that probably will help too, it helped me
I don't know if this will work or not, but if you wear the red hat (mario's hat) or anything else with red in it's name, you get better items!! I got a wierd alien and a UFO because of this cheat!!!! :]
