Is there any way of getting other dogs from the other games?

In short... Yes! The more trainer points you have, the more dogs you unlock (and new interior designs, etc).

I think I can help. I have daschund and friends but it's basiclly the same thing. There are two ways to get dogs. The first way is by trainer points. When you push the 'go out' button, look in the botton right-hand corner. There should be a button that says info. Click on that and look at the top, there should be a thing at the top that says trainer info. Click on that and look at the bottom left hand corner. There are your trainer points. If you have a certain number of trainer points you unlock different thins such as dogs rooms, or toys and food.

The second way is to link up with another person that has nintendogs of a different version. They send over a dog and if you don't have that dog you unlock it. But you can only do that with the person once. Hope I helped. I have 26080(or somewhere close) to that many trainer points and 7 dogs. A siberian husky (Talim), a beagle(Maggie), a boxer (Mia), a shiba inu (Lani), a sheltie (Brownie), a chihuahua (Song), and a corgi (Baby). I goin' for a dalmation. BYE!!!

Yes you can do bark mode with other editions and the dog that they use,when you come back home you will be able to get that dog.
