Question for New Super Mario Bros

On the last castle in world 8 I can get half way but then it just keeps going through the same bit until I run out of time, can someone please tell me how to get past this bit as I really want to finish the game.

There are three different spots where there is a correct path to got through before reaching the door. During the first one, run arcoss the bottom. Be sure your running so you don't fall into the wholes filled with lava. The second one is the top path. First you jump up to the platform in the air after the fire wheel. Then keep runing so you don't fall through and don't have to jump, there for risking health. Last is the middle one, where there is no real danger. After that you'll see a coin so get that if you can, then enter the Big door to face the Bowsers.

Its just like the original super mario bros. There are three hieghts for each part. You have to pick a hieght and run through. If you chose the correct one, you should hear a ding... If you chose the wrong one, you should hear a buzzer. Just keep trying and you will have to do it three times ;)
