How do you do dowsing for the new ranger in the mountens on level 4

For dowsing you go around the mountains and tap on the ground. Then if it's blue your far away from the gem if it's green your getting closer if it's yellow even closer then orange closer than that then red mean you found it keep tapping around where it's red then when there is a exclamation pointgo to it tap on it then start digging
