you go on a walk and chek evry signpost one will say "beutie contest" it will say wich costume you are sopuse to where clik enter compotinsion and wait till the day (on the sign post it will tell you wich day) then when you give youre dog a bath (you have to have some cloths)it will come up to the bit where you can dress youre dog but the envolope wil be yello clike on it and youre in the coompotision!

What the other girl said was correct but I could barely understand it because of grammar and spelling. So I've rephrased it. Go around to the "info boards" on the farm/forest/maze and river walks until one says it registered you for the beauty contest (it's usually on Saturdays). Next you should go around the shops and get proper attire for the contest. On Saturday (or whatever day it is) eat the oily food, then click on grooming. Assuming you purchased it earlier use the aloe-vera or glossy shampoo. When you get to the dressing part get dressed in your beauty clothes. Then click the envelope (still in the dressing room) and that will take you to the contest. If you make the mistake of clicking the envelope before you were dressed because you did not what it was (I did this once on accident) simply turn off your nintendo. Turn it back on and go back to your pet. The day will start over and the contest will await you. Good luck and enjoy!
