It only depends on how much moshlings you get or your level which is located below the rox. What I usually do is check the place again and again.

When ever you explore around the wooly wilderness and you go to one of the places (example dessert desert) when you first travel there it will make a certain noise to tell you that there is a moshling there or maybe an egg . Try it you will ALWAYS know where there's a moshling
