Can you play multiplayer mode without 2 game packs

yes you can, just go to multiplayer, then to "single card play", your friends have to go to Nintendo Ds download in the DS main menu, wait a little bit, they download the game and soon you will be playing with your friends (in this mode you only can choose samus for the multiplayer fight)
Yup! All you have to do is:
At the main menu, select multiplayer. There should be three selections. Select Single-Card play and have the other DS do DS Download Play. Continue doing all the selections and all that stuff.
NOTE: The player who's doing Download Play can only play as Samus, and the only mode you can use is Battle.
Yes you can, you do DS-Download with your friends & you do single pack mode then your friends go through DS-Download & then you can play. But your friends only can be Samus Aran. I am glad to help out.
