What am I doing wrong

I can find everything but the pot for the smoker. Whenever I try to smoke(dry) something the meat always goes bad..... Can someone please give me hint to where I might find this pot or whatever it is I need. This is the third time I have restarted the game.



Comment:(Apr 15 2008) OK thanks for the help I have had asked James to do the smoking, but the meat still went bad, but maybe thats because I took him out to venture the Island. Do you have any idea on how to find shells or other fishing material? thanks again for the help

You don't need a pot for the smoker. You need to build a smoking rack. The ability to be able to construct a smoker seems to be connected to having some food that you are carrying go bad. You should see your character wondering if there is a way to make food keep longer.
Besides the smoker, James can smoke food, and the fire has to be burning. I'm not sure if Sam (Eric) can smoke food for you. I haven't played as one of the other characters yet. You have to ask to have the food smoked as a "favor". It takes a bit for the smoked food to be completed.

For shells you need to find the 2nd girl, and for other fishing material I don't really know what you mean by the expect from the basics (1.Any stick 2.Tree Vine 3.Any sharpend thing)
