For some reason when I go to battle at sea free play the canon wont work

Trust me, I had problems to. I was wondering why it didn't work, so in Story Mode , I tried firing the cannon with Will Turner and strange enough, it worked. So then I tried again in Free Play , I picked Will Turner (Any kind of Will Turner works, as long as it's Will Turner ) and shot the cannon and worked. Try this and it just might work. Hope it helps!
