I have had this game for a while now but recently I unlocked a new character (a hero) but I don't know how to equip him in the free play menu? Can anyone help me out please.

In the free play when your choosing characters click on the hero at the topleft, then on the right there is all the heros you've unlocked. Click on the one you want, then in the middle between the two menus there is a button with arrows going left and right(swap/switch button0 click on that and it will change them. This works with all the classes.
