Question for Harvest Moon DS

I have a question about the rival events. Can you only trigger them when the girl you wanna marry is still on gray heart? Or can it be any color? For example I'm going to marry Lumina who is currently on green heart. Can the rival event still happen? Not that I want it to but I just wanna make sure.

Rival events can continue to happen as long as your girl is not on RED. The tricky part about rival events is that they only happen once a year... SO, if you want to see all the rival heart events, you have to wait almost 4 years!!! The problem with that is that if your rival hits thier last heart event before you do, YOU can't marry her! Yikes!- so get a move on romeo.

Yes, the rival can happen only ONCE a year, until she gets married (takes four years to get married to rival (if one rival happenes every year)), or until she gets to red.

Well, rival events will once a year for 4 years. You don't need to worry though. You can't trigger a blue rival event if the girl has a green heart!
