Question for Harvest Moon DS

Hey can anyone tell me how many times you have to fish in order to rescue even one single dang fishing sprite?

I think the first magic number is 300. Hire the sprites to fish for you and it speeds things up!

I think it 50 or 100. Hire the other sprites to help you.

Well... The first is 50.
You have to catch at least 50 fish. Then you'll unlock Paige. If you catch 500 fish, you'll unlock Fry. Then 1000, 5000, 10 000, then finally 50 000. Don't worry about the larger numbers though. You can hire the unlocked fishing sprites to catch them for you.
Hmmm... But the easiest fishing sprite to get can be unlocked if you try to fish in your farm's watering pond.

You can also fish with a blessed fishing rod to get one...also the pond you get...and the hot spring...
