Question for Harvest Moon DS

I have a problem I think might be a glitch. When I use my fishing rod,no matter where I use it,the bobber sits there. I have had my character sit there for 3 game hours,but nothing happens. Can someone help me,please?

Most fishes are caught during the morning like 6am or late like 7pm to 10 pm so use a pendant (the thing that allows you to use tools inside without wasting time) and there you go
