Why do you have to rescue at least 60 harvest sprites to get married? I mean, can't you just do all of the bachelorette you want to marry's heart events, have the big bed, get her heart up to red and propose her with a blue feather?

I suppose it's just a challenge. Also I think the Sprites you've unlocked come to the wedding.
You can't get married unless you have 60 back. When you have 60 back, the Harvest Goddess should return. Which is why you then can get married.
You need to get 60 sprites to rescue the harvest goddess who gives her blessing at every wedding in forget me not vally so until she's rescued you can't marry for more info type ushi no tane x6- harvest moon
