how do you race on the skateboard??

After you get the info from theclothing shop how do you race on the skateboard?? What do you use the game pad or the stylus??

You don't control the skateboard.you use the stylus to move boards by tapping and dragging it out of the way, scaring cats by tapping them or dragging covers over manholes or cones to warn of obtacles. You don't use the control pad at all.
