If you defeated the first Cinquleur (sorry if spelling is wrong) king you get the sequencer, which gets stronger and stronger as you have it equipped to someone. I'd recommend you switch Luso (the main character) to a paladin when you can so he can wield it as well as wear peytral, the armor you get from beating the second king of Cinquleur. That too gains defense as long as you have it equipped.

Sequencer and Peytral gain points in attack and defense, respectively, one point for every time you get an Opportunity move.
