1 you can't use the places but if you have all of 1 area the next year you'll can get weapons and armor instead of places because there yours then

2 you can get clan ablilities later in the game by doing clan trails but you can do them quite quick,you use them at the begin of the game by choosing one after choosing your members

1. Owning territory has 2 benefits. Firstly it lowers the price of quests, and secondly when you travel around the area that you took control of ,you should see more question marks which indicate that someone either has a present for you for winning or someone just disagrees about your winnings and wants to fight.

2. You use clan abilities when you start a quest involving a battle (or just a clan trial). You get these abilities by either doing clan trials (which unlocks Regen,Regenra,Regenga Bonus CP 1 and a few others) or by answering the questions in the beggining (the quiz thing) in a certain order (the only one I know is B,B,B).The last class ability you can unlock is Libra, which is obtained by playing the game with a copy of the GBA prequel (Final Fantasy Tactics Advance) and it shows you all the traps on the field as well as colour coding them depending on wahat they do (blue=needles, yellow=leech etc).However there is one downside to it : if you're borrowing it for a day to be able to unlock the ability on normal until you finish, you will have to insert it again when you start on hard if you want it again.
