I read that the wands/staves in Final Fantasy III can cast spells. How do you get them to do that? I have tried, but can't seem to make the wand cast the spell...

Wands and staves can only cast spells in battle. To do that, select Items and then pick the wand/staff of your choice from the list. If you have the wand or staff equipped, press up to see it.
