Okay, so i'm trying to get into Tarzus, the gnome village, so i have to use mini to shrink myself, however, my black mage is job level 2 and i've been using level 2 spells suck as poison and thunder for a while now, my characters are all level 8 and hand leveled, what the heck am i doing wrong?

You're going to need a white magic user, as mini is a white magic spell. Change a job to white mage or red mage and then you can cast "on all party members" instead of one at a time.
If you don't have mini, go talk to the little gnome guy at the water springs just north of the entrance to the gnome village. He'll stock you up.
