What's a good strategy 2 defeat the kraken???

I'm at the part where I have to defeat the kraken, but whenever I try to kill it, I always end up dead. I have plenty of gold needle, hi-potion and phoenix down but I still can't kill it. Here is the status 4 my party members:
Luneth: LV.24, knight lv.7, hp 611
Arc: lv.24, black mage lv.48, hp 634
Refia: lv.24, white mage lv.50, hp 620
Ingus: lv.24, scholar lv.16, hp 611

Change to first chara red mage, or white mage. Second theif, third knight, and the last ranger. Go to easy monsters set there and guard until about 6 attacks then kill them keep doing this until you're characters job lvl increases to a higher lvl. Then use you're first character red or white mage which ever(make sure it has cura) then just use cura all the time, and attack with the other you wille eventually beat it down.

Good luck, best wishes!

I've just done this part. What you want to do is have luneth attack with his best attacks, have arc casting the highest lightining spell you have, equip refia with a lightining staff and use it to cast thunder (i think it's thunder it might not be but it's still a lightning spell) and have her heal when it's needed. Finaly with ingus use the "zeus wrath" item since he's a scholar all item effects are doubled meaning you will hit about 900 to 1200 damage each time.
I did this and had much lower lvls than you.
Good luck.

Well, here's how I did it. (with very little difficulty)
Whatever your party is now, change it to this:
Knight
Black Mage
Black Mage
White Mage.
It doesn't matter who is what, but it is better if they've had some experience in those jobs already. Powerlevel your jobs (Fight weak monsters, do Guard/Defend for 4 turns, then kill on the 5th turn) Until their job level is desirable. Train in the Cave of Tides until level 23-25. Make sure your Blackmages have lightning-based magic (Thandara and Thunder) and you have the Blood Sword and Royal Sword. Then when you feel up to it, rush in and slaughter him.
Best of Luck.

Use 2 Freelancers and Geomancers with terrain attacks and make sure Luneth has an attack of 80. 1nd freelancer Ice blade or whatever called. Keep freelancers healed with High Potions. Kraken has 8000 HP. Luneth will do 1400 damage with strongest attacks. Use Antarctic Wind. Give ice blade to 2nd freelancer.

So... Yeah, he's pretty hard for me but you should use a white mage, ablack mage WITH the blizaga spell you found earlier, a knight who can use cure, just in case, and a scholar. If you have lots of trouble and need a last resort, use theitem duplication cheat on any lightning items you may have (this is not reccommended, it can destroy your save file, and that's not nice). So yeah that's about it, good luck and feast on kalimari when this is over!

Im also having trouble with kraken. My characters are all onion knights. (you get the onion knight job by responding to topapa's message and going back to you're and saving the children from the altars cave) onion knights seem to be the best choice becuz they have more mana magic mp for all levels up till lvl 8 magic. More than black and white mages, they can learn both white and black magic. AND, they can be equipped with any armor or weapon and it will be effective. But I'm still getting killed by kraken even after using cura and thundara and blizaga and errything. My gues is to keep levling up until their stronger

Guest answered:

The best possible strategy is to use lighting attacks
On him and thats all there is to it

Guest answered:

My Luneth is Knight lvl 50 Hp 757
Arc B Mage Lvl 15 Hp 461
Refia W Mage Lvl 20 Hp 579
Ingus Onion Knight lvl 30 Hp 603

When I Fight Kraken it's so easy Because Luneth always cover other member Luneth just take 50 damage it's easy

Guest answered:

I just beat him using
Lvl 23 Geomancer
Lvl 23 black mage
Lvl 22 white mage
And lvl 23 knight
Keep hitting him with terrain, and thundara, the Kraken uses blind a lot, so make sure to have a lot of eye drops and/or blinda, only use cura when you need it, and apply it to every character, it's good to have blood and the royal sword for knight and keep attacking with that, I took him down pretty easily
