The ability you need is called Ring Lock and the number it is is usually how many you can leave

Clavats eventually get ring lock 3 allowing you to cast any -ja magic with just a clavat but kind of tricky to pull off cause enemys will attack you there is the planter gem for ring lock ability which I believe auto locks rings if you get hit and then another gem that has the effect that reduces damage when using target ring and another gem called body boost which reduces damage reactions i.e. Getting knocked back a bit or flung and knocked down

You must have reached a certian level before doing so... Once you unlocked this you can cast all ja-spells
