First you have to check out the well, then the rope. If puzzle 25 (Stepping Up), does not start soon or Emily gives you no indication of where to go, search the area around the treehouse for a broken ladder. Repair it in puzzle 25 and then you can get the rope.
Sadly, that isn't long enough to get to Miles, but Mystery should point you in the right direction after Emily says it is not long enough.
