I'm trying to save Miles, but I can't get the rope. I'm trying to pick up the black rope in the tree(the one that sparkles occasionally), but Emily won't pick it up. I inspected the well in the twisted garden already, is there something wrong with my game or is there something I'm not doing right?

You have to get one of the cats to get it for u. I think sabbath has to get it for you
You don't want the rope in the tree yet; go out to the twisted garden (The one with the creepy talking flowers) and touch the rope dangling from the outside of the tree. Emily will comment about how she can't reach it and, if puzzle 25 does not start automatically, look around the general area for a broken ladder to fix. It's an easy puzzle, so should not take too long.
Once you have the ladder fixed, touch the rope again and Emily will retrieve it. However, the rope is still not long enough; Mystery should point you in the right direction from there.
