How do I get the Wight Knight to appear?

Question for Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies

How do I get the Wight Knight to appear?

Do I need to have certain events happen first?
Do I need to be carrying any special items?

I would also be grateful for any tips you have for defeating the Wight Knight.

Comment:(Sep 7 2011) I just found the answer in a walkthrough. In order to get the Wight Knight to appear, you must first visit the King of Stornway. He will ask you to defeat the Wight Knight.
It is recommended that you have a full team, and some healing powers between you.

Also, when you got to the special spot as dericted by the King stella says should we wait,answer yes and he will eventually appear. (That is what I did)
