Pincushion Ability

How exactly does the pincushion ability work? Becuase i need to use it to defeat 3 infernal armours for a paladin quest, but it doesn't seemto do anything, they just attack me, and that's the end of it :( please help ASAP

ok you need to hurt it a little then use pincushion every turn and when it attacks you it will lose some hp do that till it dies

Additionally, remove all your amour besides your weapon. if you have one, put on a life bracer as this with save you from healing. Also have your character learn double up ( from the gladiator skill tree). Lastly, drop of your other party members.
Now, when you encounter the amours, use double up twice, so to lower you defense. Then keep on using pincushion until your defense returns. if the amour calls for a cure slime, kill it on your next turn, as it will heal the amour. I used this method, and it saved a lot of time.
