Question for Disgaea DS

In the walkthrough they they tell me to die to get Pleinair I try it but when ido it wont let me please answer a.s.a.p

What they mean by "die" is lose to mid-boss the 1st time you fight him. By doing this you'll technically beat the game. After you start it up again, talk to pleinair after you start the vyers castle level & there will be a 3rd option under the assembly & the explanation. It's blank, but choose it & she'll join your team!

When you talk to her, do you select the blank space? When you do that she should join the party.
