It depends. If it's simms pets 2 on gamecube then get animal crossing, becuase it's like a regular sims game only you have pets. But Sims pets 2 on nintendo Ds get animal crossing, because sims pets 2 on nintendo ds all you do is take care of other people's dogs, becuse you're a vet. Either way get animal crossing becuase there's so much to do, and it's very fun. And if you get it check out the forums for it too for advice!
Definetly Animal Crossing. I have both games and on a scale from one to ten I give Animal Crossing a ten and The Sims 2 Pets a five.
I haven't got the Sims2 Pets but I do have some of the other games and Animal Crossing: Wild World. The advantages of Sims would probably more lifelike and of course being able to buy a Pet but I don't have the game so I would'nt know. Now the advantages to getting the great game of Animal Crossing is that it has no real plot. This can make the game fantastic and your fave of all time, or it can make you not like the game at all. It is up to your friend. Maybe if he has older versions of the game he can take it from there. Also you can get your friend to read a review. I have made one for Animal Crossing: Wild World under Zelda_Fan and I think I am sure you can find one for Sims2 Pets. Hope I could help.

If it's a guy, he would probably prefer Animal Crossing cause it's less girly. Ihave have both games and Animal Crossing has heaps more to do, seriosly.
I beat the Sims 2 Pets game in just a few days, but it was pretty fun. It's probably not much more adult-ish, though.
