Hi there, I have been wanting to upgrade Tom Nooks shop for ages, how and why does this happen/not happen

If you want to unlock the final upgrade I think you need to spend 240,000 bells and have a friend shop at the store over wireless connection ot wi-fi.If YOU WANT TO UNLOCK THE OTHER GRADES HERRE IT IS.
Nooks granny:available from the start
Nookingtons:25,000 bells(im not sure if all of these are correct if you want full answers look on the cheats section).
Nook 'n' go:65,000 bells

You need to spend 250,000 bells to get the best upgrade witch is Nookingtons. Hope I helped.

Castaway Vicki is right. You must spend 240,000 Bells at Nook's store and then get someone from another town to buy one of his products. He will then close for one day and upgrade to Nookington's.

To upgrade Nook's cranny you need to meet certain conditions:
Nook'n'go(First upgrade.) : Spend 25,000 bells at
Nook's cranny.
Nookway(Second upgrade.) : Spend 65,000 bells at
Nook'n'go.
Nookingtons(Final upgrade): Spend 240,000 bells at
Nookway and have
someone else shop at
Nookway.
