The cube that gives you the ability to use your cards is on Kollin in the courtyard this is planet 2.The vortex you saw was a sequence battle if you beat all 30 levels it gives you the evolve mineral that when you feed it to ADULT spectrobes they evolve.when your done with that go back to the ship go to the part that saids rotate the planet and keep going until you find area3.
