To get the hidden world 4, you must be mini, heres how:

At the boss castle level at the end of world 2, grab the mini shroom. (somwhere in the level) then face the mummy pokey tower. If you notice, mini mario's jump attack will not affect the pokey t. You need to ground pound it (a/b down) kill it and watch the cut scene, mario will go "huh?" and jump down the lower path to world 4. Oh yeah there's a Yoshi refrence in World 4-1, you ride on a giant blue water Yoshi.
