Go to world 3 go to the level with the pond skater things get the mini mushroom in the level then get it again in your inventory then go to the second level in world 1 (the underground level) and use mini mushroom and get the star then on the balance beam jump on the platform and go to the finish but when you get to the end the flag will be red then on the map press x x b y l r x and mario will be shiny gold!

note you need to be mini mario to use the shiny ball.
