Blue shell dodge hints and tips for Mario Kart DS

Blue shell dodging (BSD) is when you avoid a blue shell launched at you. There are three ways to do this

1)Run over an item (banana, green shell, etc) right before you get slammed, and while you are flipping/spinning out, the shell will hit the ground, but you won't be affected. This is the easiest way, but is probabally the worst way.

2)With practice, you can drop a bomb right behind your kart, and blow up the blue shell. Again this is hard, but it is marginally better than way #1

3)Probabally the best way. You charge up a mini-turbo, lean into it (if you started it going right, hold right, if you started it going left, hold left), and right before the shell hits, release it AND JUMP. The jump is the most important part. You can always do this on 150cc, and on certain courses on 100cc (wifi speed). To practice, drop to 5th place, grab a blue shell, and snake(mini turbo left and right to gain speed with the egg 1 or the dry bomber) to first place. Then, use the blue shell. After some practice, you will be able to dodge easily. Start practicing on Frappe snowland, as it is the easiest way.
