Question for Zelda 64: Ocarina of Time

I haven't played the game in a few years, and I just started over my game. I'm at the part where you go through Dodongo's Cavern to get the second stone, but I know that you have to open up the big mouth-thingy by the entrance. How do you open it up? Do I need my bomb bags?

I also have another question. My mom had a game, but she gave up on it, so my sister and I have been working on it. The part that we are REALLY stuck on is going through the Water Temple. How exactly do you get through it? If anyone could help us, that would be awesome! Thanks!

If you're talking about opening up the giant skull of the Dodongo in the dungeon, then you need to drop bombs into it's eye sockets from the bridge above. Hopefully you activated the pillar that connects the upper and lower level, otherwise you'll have to take the long way around.

As for the water temple, you'll need to change the water level several times, whilst looking for Silver Keys. The best thing is for you to download one of the full walkthroughs, which gives a detailed explanation of the Water Temple. The most commonly missed Silver Key is the one located inside the central room, when the water level is medium/high. You have to use the Iron Boots to sink through the hole where the floating platform was, and kill these monsters for the chest containing the Silver Key to drop down.

You will also need the Hookshot (obtained early) to access certain areas/kill underwater monsters.

Ok yes you do need bombs to open up the mouth. If you look up you will see there is a bridge above the mouth. You need to get up to that bridge and that can be done by going through the temple. When you get up to that bridge you will see two areas where it looks like a piece of the bridge has been cut out. Simply drop a bomb down through the opening and it will fall in one of the eyes and explode. Do the same to the other eye and his mouth will open. As for the Water Temple, it's a very difficult temple and because I don't know exactly where you are or what you have done I would say go around raising and lowering the water levels until you get to a door you havent opened yet. Good luck!!!

To open his mouth you need to catch a fish end then drop it in front of his mouth and it will open.

Good luck.

1. Drop bombs into it's eyes from above.
2. I don't know how, but I know you need to change the water level a lot.
