How can I get the heart container with Dampé on gravedigging to

When I'm child link and go to the graveyard at day the boy is there, but at night Dampé isnt, when I go to his house it just says that the gravedigging tour is over so does that mean Dampé wont come out anymore? Because I want to get the heart container in the soft soils you tell him to dig

Yeah, during the day he's asleep, and at night the tour is only for a few hours.
Check the sign to see when the tour is, and click the door to Dampe's shack to find out what time it is at night.
You can't use the Sun Song to change it to night, as it forwards time to the point in time when the tour is over. You need to stay outside Kakariko Village, in Hyrule Field, and run up the stairs just as the sun sets and you hear the wolves howl to indicate that it is night-time.

Make sure you have plenty of money for him to dig. Think it's 10 Rupees per dig. I tried getting him to directly dig where the Piece of Heart was supposed to be, and just got Rupees. So not sure if the Piece of Heart appears after x amount of digs in the soil squares, or if it's because I asked him to dig on a cobbled stone square by mistake.

First of all you have to be Link of the past (Kid link). Go to the Graveyard at night and have a lot of rupees. You have to dig many times (unless you're lucky) to try and get the piece of heart. Any other dig will result in a variety of different rupees.

Do you get different reward if you already found the heart piece? If so what is it?
