No, you have to wall jump to get a few of the coins and it is the only way.

Yes, I got all 8 coins without wall jumping. From the high platform with the water diamond, if you do a long jump diagonal towards the red brick building to the right of the steeple, you can land there, get the coin, and then jump to the lower building. It worked 2 out of 3 attempts. By going diagonal, you get low enough to avoid the sloped ceiling. Then from the high orange block with the metal cap, I was able to leap to the tallest white building and get that coin and then to the lower building.
