Super Mario 64 Pack Shot

Super Mario 64

darkdeoxys24 asks: Added Jun 16th 2008, ID #120747

Hey I entered a gameshark code called "Gold Mario" That is apparently supposed to turn mario a golden color. I entered it exactly as it was written on the gameshark codes page. It only made dots of gold on mario that kindof reminded me of camoflauge except with gold and red/blue. How do I fix this?

I've tried this code myself, and I didn't get that effect. Instead, I just got a Mario with a gold hat and shirt. I had assumed it would turn Mario entirely gold, but I was wrong. It seems you've gotten a completely different result as well. Double check to see if the code was entered correctly.

As a side note, I tested this code on an emulator, and that may have been the case with the creator of the code. If you're entering the code on the actual Nintendo 64 system, it may act differently, and cause this problem. Your GameShark or Super Mario 64 could be damaged, or perhaps there's just a slight error in one of the cartridges. Some other codes may also be interfering with this code, so turn all other codes off and try again. And again, double check the way the code was entered.

If you're using an emulator, then you've either mistyped the code, I mistyped the code, or it just doesn't work. Or, the code has been changed since I got it, and so it has a different result. Or you have a bad ROM file.

(As a side note, from what I can figure out about how the ROM works, for gold spots to appear, the code would only be half-working, considering there are multiple color slots for each color (red and blue). Now, I just made these assumptions based on an editing program, so that may not be how it works at all. In that case, please ignore this entire paragraph. But maybe you only entered half the code...)

There are 2 gold mario codes. Try the other one, maybe then you'll get the same effect that luiginumberone got.
