Batman: Arkham City to get Content Bridge Comic

One of the biggerst issues with game sequels is the amount of foreshadowing that has to occur at the start in order to inform the gamer as to what events took place between the previous game and the sequal in order to set up the scenario -- often this ends up being an abbreviated process with way too much left to the imagination of the gamer.

Fans of Batman: Arkham Asylum who are all fired up about the upcoming release of Batman: Arkham City will be pleased to learn that they will not have to guess at what happened to turn a large swath of the city into a prison, because this May a six-issue comic book miniseries will be published by DC Comics providing a detailed look at the gap period between the games.

Arkham Asylum is one of the most critically-acclaimed video games of 2009, and Arkham City is expected to match or even beat it in terms of quality and challenge, with a deep and extensive storyline and plots, and extensive coverage of the events that set up the sequal can only be a good thing.

The mini-series is written by Paul Dini, writer of Batman: The Animated Series, and the two Arkham games, while the comic is drawn by Carlos D’anda, who is the concept artist for the video games, so we can expect it to be spot-on!

BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY will double-ship in its first month, with issues 1 & 2 landing in May. Each issue will be available in print and digitally for $2.99 each, with the sequel set for a Fall 2011 release.
