4th Dr. Who Game Details Announced SuperCheats News
"Have you ever wanted to fly the TARDIS or take on the Cybermen and Daleks? This is your chance to play as the Doctor for the very first time, but don't worry, Amy's coming too. Travel across time and space in these brand new online adventures" touts the introduction on the official BBC website. Available free in the UK, the games can be downloaded only on http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/theadventuregames -- the official website for the Dr. Who game!
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) is the primary public service broadcaster in the UK, and the largest in the world, and has been broadcasting internationally since it was established in 1932. Famous for its nightly news broadcast, the BBC operations include television, radio, and Internet media, and its studios provide the opportunity for some of the UK's brightest talents to bring their ideas to life.
While it is arguably best known for shows like the BBC World News, we can easily forgive it because it is also home to the fantasmagoric Sci-Fi epic Dr. Who Series! Not content to just provide us with an amazingly addictive TV show, the wizards of all things entertaining at the BBC felt that we also needed a Dr. Who video game, so they gave us one. For free!
The fourth installment in the current series of the BBC's Doctor Who: The Adventure Games will be released as a free download on Christmas Day. Titled Shadows of the Vashta Nerada , this final chapter will be available online immediately following the broadcast of Doctor Who's Christmas Day TV special on BBC One.
"We've gone all-out for the season finale," said Doctor Who producer, Steven Moffat. "Shadows of the Vashta Nerada takes place entirely underwater - something which would be impossible for the TV series, as water is so expensive. It's thrilling, terrifying, educational and fun. Just steer clear of those shadows."
While you will have to wait until Christmas Day to download and play Shadows of the Vashta Nerada the good news is that you can download and play the first three games right now! TARDIS, Blood of the Cybermen, and City of the Daleks are all currently available on the site. Created for the Windows PC, the games are each roughly 330MB in size, and require around 2GB of hard drive space once they are installed, after which you will have your hands full helping The Doctor and Amy work their way through the challenges to make all right in the worlds!
