Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection Pack First on Xbox Live SuperCheats News
The 4th (and likely final) DLC expansion pack for the celebrated bang-bang-shoot-'em-up that is also known as Call of Duty: Black Ops -- oddly titled "The Rezurrection Pack" and yes, that is actually how they spell it -- was launched exclusively on Xbox Live on August 23rd (but don't panic, it is also available for PC and PS3 gamers, Xbox just got it first) and brings gamers fond of the series the opportunity to add old-school zombie action to their favorite shooter for 2011.
You will need to rely upon your well-honed old-school Zombies-slaying skills and strategies when you take on the undead hordes in the unforgiving vacuum of space in Moon where, armed with new perks and a space-age arsenal of weapons, our heroes must overcome undead astronauts and fluctuating gravity as they unearth conspiracies that began in 1943!
Rounding out the five maps contained in Rezurrection are the four maps that originally spawned the Zombie phenomenon: Nacht der Untoten, Verrückt, Shi No Numa and Der Riese. Joining the first three DLC expansions to the game -- First Strike, Escalation, and the Annihilation Packs -- Rezurrection is available on Xbox Live for 1200 Microsoft Points ($15 USD) in a 1.5GB download, so make sure you have room on your hard drive, right?
No One Can Hear You Scream on the Moon!
Rezurrection will probably be the very last DLC expansion for Treyarch's 2010 controversial smash hit, but at least they aimed very high for this one -- to the moon!
While the Rezurrection map pack is somewhat unusual considering that it is an all Zombie maps pack, the first four of the five maps are actually previously released content in new remastered versions... If you are a fan of the series you already know that they are the four Zombie mode maps from Call of Duty: World at War and, no doubt you recall that they were previously released as part of the Black Ops Hardened and Prestige editions, but don't let that whole recycled content fact dull your excitement, because there is reason to be excited here, really!
The fifth map, called Moon, is completely new and without question the most insane zombie-killing playground that Treyarch has ever created. While you are still tasked with killing large numbers of zombies as you try to survive as many rounds as you can, the addition of a Mystery Box, Perk-a-Cola machines, Pack-a-Punch upgrades and other secret additions to the game combine to add new elements and challenges that make this a worthy addition to your expansion collection.
The Call of Duty: Black Ops Rezurrection Pack is available now for Xbox 360 via Xbox Live for 1200 Microsoft Points, and will be available for Windows PC and PlayStaiton 3 in late September of this year, and will be priced at $15 for both platforms.
