F.E.A.R. 3, Mortal Kombat and LOTR: War in the North to get PAX Demo's SuperCheats News
Don't you wish your boyfriend was a games journo like me? Yeah, because then when you hit PAX East later this month they could get you in to the exclusively by-invitation-only demos of the newest chapter in the legendary fighting franchise Mortal Kombat, the paranormal first-person shooter F.E.A.R. 3, and the intense action RPG The Lord of the Rings: War in the North.
But he's not -- he runs the register at Chuck-E Cheese (Ooh! Burn!)
Yes, there will be lots of demos, but only one will feature these three games and, of course, you'll be able to get your preview fix right here at Gaming Update once we've taken a look-see for ya!
Mortal Kombat (Street Date: April 19, 2011 on Xbox 360 and PS3 from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) -- This newest Mortal Kombat, the 9th in the franchise, takes the classic game and brings it to console systems with classic gameplay elements like the 2D fighting plan and a cast of classic characters. Mortal Kombat revisits the first Mortal Kombat game, and offers a new twist on the original story of the unleashing of Armageddon.
F.E.A.R. 3 (Street Date: May 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) -- A heart-pounding paranormal first person shooter unleashing intense combat, compelling narrative and co-op play that evolves the franchise.
Alma returns in F.E.A.R. 3 but this time her sons Point Man and Paxton Fettel are characters available to play in divergent co-op, giving players distinctly different abilities affecting their own play as well as the experience of their co-op partner.
Gamers participate in single player or co-op modes as Point Man or as Paxton Fettel, his conniving brother whose incredible telekinetic power has given him life beyond the grave.
The Lord of the Rings: War in the North (Street Date: Some time in 2011 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment) -- Evolving the RPG genre through innovative online, interdependent co-op play for up to three players who form their own Fellowship, The Lord of the Rings: War in the North breaks new ground as the first The Lord of the Rings video game to embrace the mature and brutal reality of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth.
Exploring previously unseen lands, storylines and characters as well as those familiar from past feature films, gamers experience expansive co-op gameplay and upgradeable weapons, character customization and development, skills and special abilities.
Because we cannot all live the rock star life of a game journo, jetting from expo-to-event-to-expo, eating sushi off of the naked bellies of attractive live human "serving dishes" while we sip Krystal and Dom Perignon out of hand-turned crystal glasses in the shape of hobbits, we suffer through this long and arduous process for you. We do it for you man! That's all I'm saying...
