Full Review of Grand Theft Auto III for PlayStation 2

Introduction
GTA 3 is the first gta game on the playstation 2 and it is one of the best that will ever be made. It's a gritty tale about an crook who builds a reputation among every gang in Liberty City. It has a dark sense of humour and the radio stations(especially Chatterbox FM) are hilarious. However it is not for the faint hearted. Violence, swearing and general destruction make this one of the most adult games ever made. That's what makes it so fun!
Graphics
08
Great cities and cars are marred by awful character models and pop up in crowded areas of Liberty City. More time was obviously spent on the key characters than the peds but it's a small issue that doesn't ruin the otherwise brilliant game. Good graphics, not great.
Sound
10
Great music that is criminally underused, brilliant celebrity voiceovers(Robert Loggia, Michael Madsen and Frank vincent to name a few) and hilarious radio stations make the game a treat for the ears. But it sucks when you're on a mission and you have to get out of the car when you're listening to a good song.
Gameplay
09
Brilliant action and driving with only a dodgy lock on and an inability to swim preventing me from giving this full marks. However the driving handles perfectly and each car is unique. If you can get around the lock on the shootouts are thoroughly enjoyable.
Lastability
10
With hidden packages to find, rampages to do and vehicles to export there is plenty to do. Not to mention causing general havoc, trying to fly the dodo, finding the unique jumps and just using your imagination can keep you entertained long after you've completed the story.
Overall
10
This was easily the best adventure on PS2 until GTA Vice City took it's throne and it is still able to keep up with the quality games of today. It's in a class of it's own and apart from the other GTA games, nothing comes close to matching it's genius.
Final Score : 94 %
