Here are a few hints you should take into consideration while playing Far Cry: Instincts:

Don't Stand Still: Try to move as much as possible when your caught up in a firefight. Standing still will just get you sent home in a coffin.

Reload: Reload after every firefight. You don't want to be walking into a fight unpreapared.

Hide: If your 'Feral' then you have the ability to regenerate your health... Slowly. So if your hurt and close to death, run back into the jungle and wait there until your health is full.
