Full Review of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Sacred Cards for Gameboy Advance
Next | Other Reviews for this game
Introduction
Yu-gi-oh! The Sacred Cards is overall a pretty great game. It's a must for any Yu-gi-oh! Fan like me! It has a new dueling style and an RPG element. In it you must start out with your friends Yugi and Joey in Kaiba's Battle City Tournament and fight duelists all over battle city, including the evil Rare Hunters who are working for Marik to find the Egyptian God Cards. Only you can win the tournament and save Battle City!!!
Graphics
08
The graphics in this game are pretty good, considering that it is a GBA game. You can explore the whole city, and all the locations are colorful and have a lot of details. All of the characters also look pretty much like what they do on the show. The card pictures are also detailed and colorful, as are the duel playing fields.
Sound
07
The music is good. It does not always sound smooth, but it's pretty good. Some of the dueling music gets repetitive, but some different duelists have different music. The music is also different if you are doing some kind of special duel. It's hard to describe what it sounds like, but it's similar to the typical music for a Yu-gi-oh! Game, if you have played one before.
Gameplay
10
The gameplay is great! The duels look a bit different from Worldwide Edition and The Sacred cards, but they are still fun. I LOVE the RPG factor!!! The game goes JUST LIKE the Battle City season of the show, with the exemption of the whole trip to the Virtual World. You must battle your way to the top. You even get to duel Marik on top of the Kaiba Corp. Blimp for the Battle City crown and the fate of the world! Also, you can get the 3 Egyptian God cards in this game!
Lastability
09
The game lasts for a while because it's an RPG, but if you're a good duelist and you have a strong deck, it shouldn't take you too long because you will get through the duels easily enough. It's fun to play multiple times. Even after the story is over, you can still have fun roaming the city and dueling and talking to people.
Overall
09
I really loved this game! It's cool to encounter characters and cards that you know from the show and the TCG. Even if you're new to Yu-gi-oh!, dueling is easy to learn and you'll like this game! The graphics and sound are pretty good, and you can play it over and over again. Young and old, boy and girl, Yu-gi-oh! Fans and not, YOU'LL LOVE THIS GAME!!!

Happy Gaming!!! Yu-gi-oh Rocks!!! XOXO :)
