Introduction

Need for Speed Carbon is a very good game. Many people will think it is going to be a cool game because they have played the PS2 version, and they are right. The only bad bit about this game is that you can't do Drift on it any more. I don't know why they took Drift off, because if you ask me, the Drifting bits on the game are the best bits. You can do three other game modes that you can't do on the PS2 version, and they are:
-Delivery (Where you have to Deliver a package before the other crew does to win)
-Escape (Where you have to escape from the other crew's territory before the timer runs out)
-Takedown (Where you have to takedown enemy crew cars before the timer runs out, and you have to take-out a minimum amount of cars in the time limit)

All these things are new, and they are very good indeed, giving you alot of money for spending on your precious cars.

Graphics

The graphics on this game are very good, they are just like the PS2 version. The cars are very good in the way of there detail and accuracy, and they look very real. The only bad bit about the graphics are that the wheel rims look like paper in front of the brake calipers. The way the rims are done is quite poor, I have to admit, but when you are actually driving you don't see them anyway, so it is allright altogether.

The towns/cities are very good, as they all have detailed bulding, skyscrapers, signs, lamposts, fences, bridges, sky, hoses, other crew cars, roads, mootorways etc. All of these are very well detailed and are also very accurate. When you are going really fast in the game, sometimes it takes a while for the roads to appear, which means that the game is loading, and this puts you off when your driving as you can't see if there is a turn or if you should go straight on. Also, if you go really fast, you could get stuck on a seperater, so you hace to restart the race.

Sound

All the cars sound like real life cars, including the Aston Martin DB9. When you kit up a cars Engine, the sound of the car changes slightly, giving you the sense that your car is going faster because of the new sound. I think every car has a different sound, but there could always be the odd one or two cars where the sound is the same as another car. When you put Turbo in your car, you can sound a quiet 'hiss' when your car changes gear, and this makes it sound like in real life the street racing cars that have injection in them. The Nitrous sound in the car is very good, because it too sounds like in real life. With the better Nitrous upgrade I think the sound sounds a bit better because it lasts for longer, making the sound intensify as it goes on.

Gameplay

In this game your Brother dies in a car crash, and he was one of the best racers out there. It is your mission to go out there, find out who killed your brother (Mick) as well as taking over cities as you go along. When you take over the cities, you get more information on who killed you brother, and more and more people want to join your crew and find out who killed your brother. You can do free roam and find crates that have something hidden in them, as well as going to races on the way. You can't challenge people like on the other Need for Speeds when you are doing free roam, but I still recomend that you do free roam, as it is an experiance to get to know your car. As you go along the stroy line, you can unlock more cars, unlock more parts for your cars and nlock more crew members. You can unlock Visual and Performance Parts for your car.

Lastability

This game will last quite long because you have to take over fourteen cities/territories. Also, if you don't have any cash in the game, it will take you quite long to rasie enough money for the car. All in all I think it will last long as the game asks for alot out of you.

Overall

Overall I think this game is one of the best games to buy for PSP if you like car games. The graphics are in exellent condition and the game overall is fantastic, 10/10! I deffinently reccomend this game to all of you out there.
