Game reviews for NBA Ballers
I never got into basketball, I never really played basketball expect for gym class in high school, and never really played basketball video games. You might be asking yourself why am I doing writting a basketball review? One reason my friend gave me the game. I tried the game out and I thought that there would more players on the court but it's a one on one type of game. I can deal with that, easier for me to tell who is on my team. I liked the fact you could customize your own 'baller'. The game has music and a disc with the game music on there.
The good points of the game are that it has fairly easy controls to learn and use during gameplay. There is little confusion of which player you since there is only two on the screen. The Rags to Riches play mode starts off slow and easy for those who do not have experince playing sports or just basketball games. The fact you can pass the ball to the outside and be able to slam it in from the outside pass I think is just sweet.
The horrible parts of this game are truly bad. The custom player option is good but you can only choose between a few different players. I'm not an NBA fan but i'm sure not all the players fall between six or seven styles. In this same mode when choosing clothing for your player you see some stuff you want but is locked. Why would the game tease us like this? During gameplay the game tells you that there is hot spots to shoot from which is great. It fails to mention that the spot is only avaible during the first shot of the game and you can not find another one or at least I have not found one. The tournments and Rags to Riches modes force you to play through the whole list of people or just start over.
My final note I personally would not play money for this game. I would have regreted it and regreted even renting this title. Maybe it's because I don't like basketball or that there is a lot of problems needed to be solved for people like me to take interest in this sort of game. As always rent it before you buy it.
