To move around either hold down the left mouse button and drag it around or just click where you want to go. That's about all you need to know for the basic controls. The game's controls are mouse only.

If it's lagging then you can keep lowering the graphics quality until it runs smoothly. The window to adjust this should pop up when you first try to launch the game (unless you've set it to only pop up when you press a certain button. For me if I had it set to this I would have to hold down the option button. But I've only played this game on my mac. It may be a different button for PC).

While doing a show jumping activity you must use the hold down and drag method to move or else it won't work very smoothly. The way you jump hurtles comes in two pieces: First you must approach it straight on but avoid approaching at an angle or your horse will refuse to jump. Then a quick cutscene sort of thing happens when you get close to it. In the cutscene some little horseshoe looking symbols will pop up. You have to click the left mouse button once as soon as your horses hooves touch them. But don't worry too much, the symbols turn blue for a second or two when you're supposed to click, so just watch them carefully and don't rush too much. If you get all three to turn green you will do a totally perfect jump. If you get two out of three to turn green then you will still perform the jump and you will not get any penalties. Miss all of them, and you get penalty points from knocking a bar off the hurtle. It is timed, but don't worry too much about this. Just focus on doing perfect jumps and you'll be fine.

For Cross Country activities, it's pretty much the same thing, only you actually have to worry about the time more than you would with Show Jumping. It's basically an obstacle race. Try to avoid jump penalties though because those will just add to any penalties you might get if you don't beat the time.

As for the Endurance Races, you just have to go through each of the three gates before you run out of stamina. There are red arrow signs that point in the direction you must take to reach each gate. Stamina is measured by the carrots on the left side of the screen. The less orange they look, the less stamina you have.

I still haven't found all the hidden items, so I can't help you much with those. But speaking of items, you must walk over them to pick them up. I forgot to mention this in the beginningā€¦ XD They're hard to miss, and even though that was probably obvious I added that just in case for the sake of being detailed.

There's one more thing though. The less skilled your horse is in a certain stat, (Jumping, Strength, and Speed) the more coins you can earn if you get a medal in the activity. Say your horse has only two full flowers in Jumping or less. If you were to enter a show jumping event with that horse, you could earn 60 coins if you get a gold medal! That is A LOT in this game. I think it's like 40 coins if you were to get a silver medal, and then a plain old 20 coins if you get a bronze. I don't think you get a consolation prizeā€¦. 20 is the norm if your horse has a stat meant for an activity that's more than two flowers.

In case you didn't know, flowers are what measure your horses stats in this game. Each petal is like a point. Five points = one whole flower.

That's about it for the game. You can probably tell that I've actually read the tutorial's texts that explain things lol. I don't know if you skipped the tutorials or something else. If it's none of my business then just tell me not to pry. If you're okay telling me why you aren't sure how to play then feel free to tell me. Consider it my charge for typing all this lol. Don't be embarrassed if you skipped the tutorials though, I do that a lot. I actually did that for the first bit of the tutorial until I got to how to play the show jumping thing. At that point I decided to actually read the text boxes at least once XD
